I grew upon on the California coast, but memories of living there include more flowers & plants than sand & saltwater. Besides, I’m more of a garden wanderer than a bikini-clad beach goer. Coastal gardens draw me because they remind me that there’s something for everyone at the coast. What we love about the earth is as varied as our unique experiences of it. I also just love how humble coastal plants are; they sit next to this vast, world-renowned body of water, not trying to compete for attention, but perfectly framing & complementing it. This collection is a love letter to the California coast through the lens of its plants. It aims to shine a light less at the sand and seashells, and more at the blooms & textures who take a back seat to tourists coming for a tan, but whose beauty deserves recognition of its own.
